MORE INFORMATION

  • This 6" Sandtrooper was released on April 13th, 2018 packed in together with a Dewback
  • The figure is a re-work of previously released Black Series 6" Sandtrooper figures
  • This time the right forearm was made out of rubber and can be bent easily (not sure why this was necessary)
  • The trooper's backpack plugs firmly into a hole in the back of the figure
  • There is no head underneath the helmet
  • The Sandtrooper is able to hold the lance and the blaster rifle OK in his hands
  • The grey shoulder pauldron was heavily weathered and dirtied up which looks cool
  • The shoulder pauldron can be taken off the figure (the head needs to be popped off first -> don't break your figure!)
  • Unfortunately the backpack wasn't changed for this release (Sandtroopers had different backpacks, so far Hasbro has released the same one with all of their Black Series 6" Sandtrooper figures)
  • Previous releases had the small buttons on the ammunition pouches painted, this is not the case here
  • The weathering on the figure looks OK with more dirt on the boots and ankles, the chest and the helmet (unfortunately the back of the figure wasn't painted at all and is all clean/white)
  • The saddle pluggs well into the top of the Dewback
  • The Sandtrooper fits well onto the creature and the figure is able to hold the reins well with both hands
  • The saddle was sculpted and painted well with lots of different shades of brown, it gives a "used" apperance without looking overly dirty
  • The reigns are permanently attached to the Dewback
  • The Dewback's mouth can be opened and the tongue inside can be moved up and down
  • The Dewback's tail can be moved slightly and each leg can be moved back and forth
  • The Dewback's four knees and four ankles were given ball-joints
  • The Dewaback's big toe on each foot was given a swivel joint
  • The other three toes on each foot were given a swivel joint which can be moved as a set
  • The paint application on the Dewback looks great in person, there is more sun damage (darker color) on the top and towards the bottom the green color is lighter
  • The tongue and the inside of the mouth was painted very well too
  • Hasbro sculpted the Dewback very nicel with lots and lots of details on it
  • We think that the Dewback should have been taller and longer overall, but it still looks fantastic on display and the entire set including the Sandtrooper should be a part of everybody's Black Series 6" collection
  • This is a truly beautiful piece, make sure you pick this up and add it to your collection

PACKAGING TEXT

Sandtroopers
Stormtroopers dispatched to desert worlds wear specialized gear and are nicknamed sandtroopers. Sandtroopers wear standard stormtrooper armor augmented with cooling units, a helmet sand filter, and a survival backpack with extra rations and water. While hunting for the Death Star plans on Tatooine, sandtroopers used native dewbacks as mounts.

Dewbacks
Rugged reptiles with thick hides, dewbacks are plodding but reliable mounts. When prodded by their riders, they are capable of brief bursts of surprising speed.
