MORE INFORMATION

This Colonel Dyer figure was released in a battle pack in the fall of 2009's The Legacy Collection. The battle pack contained a total of 3 figures, which besides Colonel Dyer included a Luke Skywalker in Endor Gear, and an Ewok Warok figure. Colonel Dyer can be seen in The Return Of The Jedi, when Han Solo and friends are trying to set the charges inside the bunker. Colonel Dyer by the way was played by Star Wars sound editor Ben Burtt.

The figure has 10 joints, including swivel arms, swivel elbows, swivel wrists and waist. The only ball-joint is in the neck, and there is no articulation to be found below the waist. The figure's stance is fairly wide, which helps to balance the figure out despite the lack of knee and ankle joints. The only weapon included with Colonel Dyer was a blaster, which is a good fit for both of his hands.

Colonel Dyer's paint application is very basic, with an all black uniform and some silver accents on the belt buckle, the hat and the upper left chest. All in all, this Imperial Officer is very average. Most disappointing are the lack of ball-joints, and the limited pose ability. This is quite unusual for a Star Wars figure released in 2009. However, since the head sculpt is different from previously released Imperial Officers, it might make it worth getting. At least it'll add some variety to your Imperial Army.
