Here is a look at The Black Series 6-inch basic assortment of 2013/2014. Chewbacca would have been #13 in the series but the figure was delayed and was moved into the 2014/2015 line-up.
The only exclusive Black Series 6" set in 2013 was the San Diego Comic Con 2013 exclusive with Boba Fett and Han Solo in Carbonite.

Hasbro revealed the Star Wars 40th Anniversary Collection on February 15, 2017. The first figure shown was Luke Skywalker (X-Wing Pilot), which was a Star Wars Celebration Orlando 2017 exclusive. Only a few days later, on February 18, 2017 during New York Toy Fair, Hasbro revealed more figures from the 40th Anniversary Collection.

The Black Series Archive sub-line includes Star Wars figures which were released previously, it's a way for Hasbro to bring back popular characters such as Boba Fett and figures which command a premium aftermarket price. In some cases Hasbro even improved the figures by adding the photo real face printing technology to give them a more life-like appearance. For the Black Series Archive line the packaging was changed from a Black Series box to a blister card.
The Black Series 6" Deluxe line started in March 2019 with General Grievous. Figures in this series cost $29.99 ($10 more than a regular Black Series figure) and included larger characters.
On Triple Force Friday, October 4, 2019, Hasbro released eight figures from the basic Black Series 6" assortment in limited edition white boxes. The figures cost $19.99 each and they were identical to the figures from the basic assortment. The only difference was the packaging, even the collector number on the side of the packaging was identical to the basic assortment counterpart. Here is a complete list:
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back in 2020 Hasbro released figures on special Kenner inspired cardbacks. The very first figure released in this series was Boba Fett in Kenner inspired colors during San Diego Comic Con in 2019, and even though the cardback featured the classic Star Wars logo (just like it did in 1979 right before the release of The Empire Strikes Back), the top of the card featured the 40th of The Empire Strikes Back logo. Besides the single carded figures listed below there were also other 40th ESB designated figures, such as the Carbonized Darth Vader, Stormtrooper and Boba Fett figures (all three released in a box, not on a card), the Probe Droid and the Luke Skywalker (Dagobah) with Yoda 2-pack which were released in the Black Series Deluxe assortment.
