On the night of May 2nd to May 3rd, 1999, history was made with the launch of the Episode 1 toy line, accompanied by the inaugural Star Wars midnight madness event at retail stores, notably Toys'R'Us. This event heralded the arrival of a remarkable array of Episode 1 toys where 3 3/4" figures for the first time could speak with the help of Commtech Chips!
