Norm from Adam Savage’s Tested posted a video of how he built a Death Star inspired diorama for 3 3/4" figures, and he made the files available for free as a download. Norm is pretty sophisticated and has a wide range of tools at his disposal, but you can also download the files and hand cut it using foamcore or other, easier to work with, materials.
