GalacticFigures.com ("we," "us" or "our") is an independently operated information and community website based in Washington State, United States, for Star Wars action figure collectors. This policy explains our advertising relationships, the information handled through the website and member features, and your privacy choices. You can browse public pages without a member account. Creating an account, sharing a collection or accepting our Terms of Service does not, by itself, give consent to optional advertising or analytics tracking. Advertising and affiliate commissions help support GalacticFigures.com and the Galactic Figure Talk podcast. We may receive compensation when you click an affiliate link, make a qualifying purchase after following a link, or interact with advertising. You are never required to click an ad, buy a product or use a featured merchant.
As an Amazon Associate, GalacticFigures.com earns from qualifying purchases. We also participate in affiliate or advertising programs that may include the eBay Partner Network, Entertainment Earth, Walmart, GameStop, Mavely, Best Buy and other merchants or services. Affiliate services may use link identifiers, redirects, cookies or similar technologies to attribute visits and purchases and report commissions. Display advertising is provided through services including Google AdSense.
We do not sell action figures or fulfill merchant orders through this website. Prices, release dates, stock, pre-orders and offers can change. Check the merchant's current information and terms before purchasing. An advertisement or affiliate link is not a guarantee of product quality or an endorsement of every claim made by an advertiser.
Optional profile details, photographs and collector-tool entries are your choice. Please avoid entering financial account details, home addresses or sensitive information about yourself or other people in bios, photos, comments or collection notes.
When you use Google sign-in, Google authenticates you and provides account information permitted by the sign-in process, such as your email address, account identifier and name. GalacticFigures.com does not receive or store your Google password. Google handles its services under the Google Privacy Policy.
We use account information to provide member access, save your preferences, attribute your contributions, manage membership features, deliver member notices and help with support or security issues. Age confirmation records indicate that you confirmed the required age; they are not a verification of your date of birth. Account and policy confirmations are separate from advertising-cookie consent.
Where available, you can separately choose Website Updates, Figure Entries, Features; the Monthly Star Wars Action Figure Recap; and Special Reports/Editorials in Manage Newsletters. Creating an account, accepting our terms or closing the optional prompt does not subscribe you. Your first newsletter signup requires confirmation through an email sent to your account address before newsletters become active. After that address is confirmed, category changes take effect when you save. A changed account email address requires confirmation again. Collector's Corner comment emails are not currently available.
We keep your selected categories, confirmation and preference-change dates, the version of the consent wording, and delivery records needed to send requested emails, prevent duplicates and honor opt-outs. Emails are sent through our hosting and mail providers. Optional mailings may contain affiliate links; the advertising disclosure above applies. We do not use tracking pixels to measure email opens. Links in newsletter content may pass through GalacticFigures.com to count link clicks by email delivery. We record the campaign link, a delivery identifier, click counts and dates; we do not collect IP addresses or device details for these newsletter statistics. Visiting a linked website is subject to that website's privacy practices.
You can withdraw consent at any time in Manage Newsletters or use the unsubscribe link in a mailing without signing in. Removing a category prevents further queued messages in that category from being submitted; a message already being submitted may still arrive. Stopping optional emails does not close your account or stop essential account or support communications. The community email inbox is not monitored; contact info@GalacticFigures.com for help.
Preference and consent records are retained while needed to maintain your choices and document them. Delivery bodies are removed after completion, with temporary retention for uncertain outcomes; limited delivery records are cleaned up during email processing. Account removal or anonymization also removes the associated email preferences and replaces identifying recipient details in member delivery records. Hosting backups and messages already delivered to other mail systems follow their own retention schedules.
Collection and Wish List sharing have separate privacy settings. When you enable a public list, people with its link can view the information presented on that public page without signing in. Changing your Collector's Corner to private does not change the privacy settings of your collection or Wish List. Check each sharing setting independently.
Private collection notes and storage locations are excluded from the site's public collection pages. Your Pre-Order Tracker is a member account feature, rather than a public list. Information described as private is not displayed to the public through those features, but may be accessed by authorized administrators when needed to operate, support or protect the service.
You control what you do with exported files and shared links. An export may contain private details you choose to include. Someone who receives a public link or a downloaded copy may pass it on, so review the contents before sharing.
Your Collector's Corner may show your approved bio and photographs, display name, rank and member-since date. Bio edits and new photographs are saved as drafts until you select Submit For Approval. New bios, future bio edits and submitted photos require review. Previously approved content may remain visible while a replacement is being reviewed, if your Corner is public.
Your publication choice is separate from approval. If your Corner is set to public, approved content can appear when it is ready. If it is private, the public Corner page is hidden. Toggling between public and private preserves your existing Corner link. Administrators can review submitted content even when your Corner is private, and review notices may appear in your member inbox.
A privacy change cannot recall screenshots, downloaded copies or search-engine caches. Previously shared direct image URLs may also remain accessible. Do not use these uploads as private storage for sensitive photographs. Check photos for visible addresses, documents, other people's information and embedded location details before uploading.
You retain ownership of your photographs. The limited permission needed to host and display them, including your upload confirmations, is described in the member-photo terms.
Comments, replies and other public contributions may appear with your display name and avatar on figure, news, article and community pages. Your account email address is not displayed as part of your comment. Making a Corner or collection private does not hide comments you posted elsewhere. Information you include in the text of a public contribution can be read by other visitors.
We may review, reject, edit, hide, delete or anonymize contributions to address reports, spam, abuse, rights complaints and community rules. Moderation and support records may be retained to understand repeat incidents and resolve disputes.
The website and its service providers may receive IP addresses, browser and device information, requested pages, referring pages, timestamps, error information and cookie or similar identifiers. We use technical records to deliver pages, maintain security, investigate problems and understand website use. Advertising uses of IP addresses are described separately below.
For signed-in members, we also keep account-linked login and activity information, such as login times and providers, last activity, visited member page paths, and referral or campaign information associated with signup. Member-feature usage, Corner views and clicks can contribute to internal reports and statistics. Some records use account or session-derived identifiers; these records should not be assumed to be anonymous simply because a report displays totals.
Cookies are small browser files. We and our service providers may also use local storage, pixels and scripts for the purposes below. First-party cookies are associated with the website you are visiting; third-party cookies are associated with another domain. A first-party cookie can still be used by an advertising partner and does not mean its information stays only with GalacticFigures.com.
Some cookies last for a browser session; others remain until their expiry or removal. Lifetimes depend on the cookie, provider and configuration. Your browser's site-data tools can show stored items, and the applicable consent message or provider information may give further detail. Blocking essential storage can prevent sign-in or requested member features from working.
We use Google Analytics to understand traffic, content use and visitor interactions. Google may receive browser or device information, page and event information, and identifiers according to the service configuration and applicable choices. This is separate from the account-linked member activity records described above. We use Google AdSense to display advertising. Google and other advertising vendors may use cookies and similar identifiers to show ads based on previous visits to this website or other websites, measure advertising, limit repeated ads and detect invalid activity. Personalized advertising can use information about a visitor's interests and prior activity rather than only the page being viewed.
Our advertising configuration may allow Google first-party cookies and the sharing of those cookies or associated identifiers with eligible advertising platforms, including Google Ads, Display & Video 360 and Authorized Buyers. This can support personalized ads when third-party cookies are unavailable. Availability depends on Google's restrictions, regional settings and applicable user choices.
Google and other eligible advertising partners may collect information directly through the ads and technologies on our pages. Where a consent message is displayed, review its partner list and links to each partner's privacy information. Google's information about certified advertising vendors provides additional background; it is not a statement that every listed vendor operates on this website.
We may allow Google to include your full IP address in eligible advertising bid requests sent to Google Ads, Display & Video 360 and Authorized Buyers. These requests invite buyers to bid to show an ad and can occur when a page requests advertising, before you click an ad. This sharing supports buyers' assessment of advertising relevance and impression quality and may help fund the site.
An IP address identifies an internet connection and may be personal information under applicable privacy laws. Sharing a full address provides more information than a shortened address. Google restricts full-IP sharing for non-personalized ads, limited ads and restricted-data-processing requests. We use Google's consent message for visitors covered by its European regulations messaging. Use that message to accept, refuse or manage optional purposes and advertising partners. The Privacy and cookie settings link at the bottom of the site, or the button below when available, reopens those choices so you can change or withdraw consent. If a control is unavailable or you need help, contact info@GalacticFigures.com and tell us the page and issue you encountered.
This button is available when Google's European privacy choices apply and have loaded. It does not change your choices until you use it.
These outside tools do not replace choices in a site consent message or apply to every provider. Refusing personalization does not necessarily remove advertisements or all storage used by advertising services. Non-personalized advertising can still use cookies; limited advertising may use storage for invalid-traffic detection, depending on the configuration and applicable requirements.
For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, applicable rules require consent for optional storage where legally required and for the collection, sharing and use of personal data for personalized advertising. Consent must be a separate choice; continuing to browse or accepting membership terms is not a substitute. Withdrawing consent does not change the lawfulness of processing that took place before withdrawal.
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we process information as necessary to perform our agreement with you and provide the account and features you request; for legitimate interests such as site security, moderation and troubleshooting, subject to your rights; to meet legal obligations; or on the basis of consent where required. We do not use legitimate interests as a substitute for advertising consent when that consent is required.
Depending on your location and the law that applies, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a portable copy of your personal information, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, and complain to your local data-protection authority. Some United States privacy laws also provide rights to opt out of targeted advertising or the sale or sharing of personal information, and to appeal a denied request. Advertising disclosures can qualify as a legal "sale" or "sharing" even without a direct payment for a particular person's information. Where these rights apply to our processing, use the available privacy choices or contact us to make a request. We will not penalize you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
Some browsers offer opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control. Where applicable law requires these signals to be honored, they communicate an opt-out of covered data sales or sharing. If a United States privacy message or a Do not sell or share my personal information control is displayed, it provides additional regional choices. In addition to the public-sharing and advertising practices described above, information may be available to authorized site administrators and providers supporting hosting, storage, account authentication, communications, security, analytics and site operation. Advertising partners and affiliate merchants may process information for their own purposes under their own policies.
We may disclose information when reasonably needed to comply with applicable legal requirements, address rights or safety concerns, investigate abuse, or establish or defend legal claims. If operation of the website transfers to another owner, relevant information may transfer with it, subject to applicable law and any required notices or choices.
Retention depends on the type of information and why it is held:
Contact us for information about a particular record or a deletion request. We do not promise immediate removal from every backup, third-party system or copy that another person has saved.
To request account closure, access, correction, deletion or another applicable privacy right, email info@GalacticFigures.com. If the request concerns a member account, use the associated email address when possible and identify the account or content involved. We may ask for proportionate information to verify your identity or an authorized representative's authority before disclosing or changing account data.
Requests are reviewed individually under applicable law. Closing or anonymizing sign-in information does not automatically erase every contribution, collection entry or photograph. We review related content and sharing settings as part of the request; comments may be removed, hidden or anonymized to preserve discussion context. Information may need to be retained for security, dispute resolution or legal obligations. If we cannot fulfill a request in full, we will explain the applicable reason and available next steps.
Website providers and advertising partners may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Privacy laws and protections differ between countries. Google describes the safeguards it uses in its data-transfer frameworks. Those descriptions concern Google's processing and are not a certification of GalacticFigures.com. Contact us for information about other providers or transfers relevant to your request.
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect information and restrict access. No website, internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Protect your sign-in account and avoid including sensitive information in public contributions.
GalacticFigures.com is intended for a general collector audience and is not directed to children under 13. Children under 13 must not create accounts or submit personal information. If local rules require a higher age or parental authorization for a feature, those rules also apply. If you believe a child has provided personal information contrary to these requirements, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
GalacticFigures.com is not affiliated with The Walt Disney Company, Lucasfilm LTD., Hasbro or other Star Wars merchandise manufacturers. Star Wars names, characters and related imagery belong to their respective rights holders. Content is provided for collector reference, information and entertainment. We try to keep it accurate, but it may be incomplete or outdated; opinions belong to their authors.
Original site photographs and other original content are protected by copyright. Member photographers retain their ownership rights. Our content and image-use terms explain permitted uses and permission requests. Linked merchants, social networks and other websites have their own terms and privacy practices; review them when you follow a link or use their services.
We may revise this policy as features, providers or requirements change and will update the date above. Where a change requires additional notice or consent, those requirements still apply; posting a new version does not replace them.
