This 3.75" Chewbacca was released on August 5th, 2018 in the United States exclusively at Target stores
Chewbacca was packed-in with the Vandor-1 Heist playset
The figure is a re-release of the single carded Chewbacca figure (including the Force Link 2.0 voice samples), but now it also included a pair of goggles which makes this figure scene specific to the train heist in Solo: A Star Wars Story
The goggles' plastic strap fits well over the head and keeps the glasses right over both eyes
The bandolier is not meant to be taken off the figure, but it's possible
Chewie's body has a groove in the front and the back where the bandolier is meant to be, so if the bandolier is taken off the figure it would look strange
The figure stands about 1 1/2 heads taller than a basic 3.75" Han Solo figure
Hasbro painted the figure well with different shades of brown on the fur but they neglected to paint the ammunition shells on the back of the bandolier (they are painted silver on the front)
The neck is ball-jointed, but because of Chewbacca's long plastic hair in the front, the figure isn't able to look down or up properly
We've experienced no balancing issues while taking pictures of Chewie
The Vandor-1 Heist playset consists of 26 parts total, the break-down is as follows: 1 gate, 1 railing (goes on top of the gate), 2 lights (plug into the trailing for the gate), 4 support struts for the gate, 1 conveyex train track, 3 plastic stands (they go on the bottom of the base and the playboards need to be slid in), 2 figure stands, 2 figure stands which plug onto the side of the train, 1 pole which secures the train track, 1 antenna (?) which plugs into the pole on top and 4 plastic pieces which attach on the front of the train, 3 sheets of playboard, 1 sheet for the train
It took us about one hour to assemble the entire playset
The Conveyex train is Force Link 2.0 enabled, you can listen to Chewbacca's and the train's sounds here on this page
All in all, this Vandor-1 Heist playset is a fantastic throwback to vintage Kenner days, it stands about 17 inches tall (43 cm) and the images printed on the sturdy playboard spark the imagination, great set at a great price (about $45)!
