In 2008, Lieutenant Thire was featured in the very first TV episode of The Clone Wars called "Ambush". Almost one year later, the figure was released in a Walmart exclusive 2-pack in September 2009 together with Clone Trooper Rys.
The figure is super articulated with 14 movable joints, including ball-jointed wrists and a ball-jointed waist! Hasbro included a total of six accessories with this figure. Two blasters, a blaster rifle, removable shoulder armor, a removable helmet with a movable visor, and a rocket launcher with projectile. Both blaster fit well into both hands, and they also fit quite well into both of Thire's holsters. The rifle sits also quite tightly in the figure's hands, but the rocket launcher seems a bit too big and bulky for the figure to handle correctly. Thire's helmet gets the job done nicely and covers his entire head. The visor on his helmet is movable, which is cool because Thire was seen in The Clone Wars with his visor down and up several times. The shoulder armor looks good and works quite well. It's easily removable if you don't like it on the figure.
The paint application is very simple, with Thire's armor being in a clean and pristine condition. All in all, this Lieutenant Thire figure is fantastic and looks just like what Thire looked like in the Clone Wars TV show.
Lieutenant Thire and clone troopers Rys and Jek accompany Yoda to Rugosa, where they are attacked by battle droids. Thire urges Yoda to leave them behind and go to the rendezvous site alone, but the Jedi refuses to leave anyone behind. When Rys says their situation is dire, Yoda encourages him to find inspiration in his comrades and himself.
