This Chewbacca Co-Pilot figure was released in October 2009 as part of the Legacy's Collection ANH wave. Chewbacca can be seen wearing a headset several times in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon in A New Hope.
Hasbro once again utilized the super articulated, VOTC Chewbacca mold for this release, which guarantees that this Chewie is as good as it gets in the 3'75 inch action figure line. However, Hasbro made some changes to the mold. Chewie has the top part of the headset molded into the head, and at the end of it, on the left side of Chewbacca's head is a little hole where the microphone can be plugged in. The cable, which is permanently attached to the microphone hangs down loosely on Chewie's left side and can be attached to the bandolier. Chewie's bowcaster is the typical 2-part bowcaster which has been released several times before, and with a little bit of patience, the weapon can be placed perfectly into the figure's right or left hand.
The paint application on this Chewbacca figure is once again flawless with various shades of brown and some very nicely done highlights on the front and the back of the figure. All in all, this is a great Chewbacca figure, and it's great to see that Hasbro went ahead and took the best Chewie mold available, made appropriate changes to it, and gave collectors a figure based on movie scenes that has not been done before.
Chewbacca must quickly prepare the Millenium Falcon to leave Tatooine when stormstroopers arrive in pursuit of the shipGÇÖs new passengers. The Wookiee fires up the engines as Han Solo exchanges blaster fire with the Imperial troopers.
