MORE INFORMATION

Astromech Droid R3-M3 was released in 2009 as a Build A Droid figure during The Legacy Collection. The droid can be seen in the background after Obi-Wan Kenobi disables the tractor beam on the Death Star.

The droid has 5 joints, a rotating dome, 2 swivel legs, and 2 swivel ankles. The middle leg is removable, so it can be positioned either "moving", or "standing still". All 3 legs have little rolls in them, so that the droid can be moved around. R3-M3 does not have a mechanism where the middle leg moves in and out when the dome is rotated, hence no clicking sounds. There were no accessories of any kind included with this release, and the droid does not have any antennas that can be plugged into the dome.

The paint job on R3-M3 is nicely done, with blue on the body, dark and light grays, some "gold" on the cables by the feet and red "eyes". If you take a peek underneath the dome, you'll notice that Hasbro even painted some of the cables, which really is a nice detail. Overall, astromech droid R3-M3 is a simple, but cool figure, which looks like the droid in the original Star Wars movie.
