This Holiday Yoda was released as a Fan Club exclusive in 2003 in special SAGA Collection packaging. The figure was inspired by the 1981 Ralph McQuarrie Christmas card design, which shows Yoda in a Santa Clause outfit and carrying a bag of presents over his shoulder.
The figure is unique and features three movable parts, including a swivel head and two swivel arms. No other parts are movable. Yoda's body is basically one solid block of plastic with two feet sticking out at the bottom. Hasbro included a walking stick and a bag of toys with Yoda. The walking stick is a very loose fit, and it's more practical to keep the small plastic rubber band in place which keeps it attached to the left hand. The bag can be placed over Yoda's right shoulder, where his right hand can get a good grip of it and hold it in place. Yoda's Santa hat is part of the head and can't be removed. The Santa outfit is painted onto the figure and therefore not removable.
The paint application on the Holiday Yoda is quite simple, but looks cool. The figure's sculpt captures Yoda's likeness quite well and looks very nice when placed on the included display stand. All in all, this Holiday Yoda is very charming, and another nice tribute to the genius of Ralph McQuarrie.
