B-Wing Pilot Palso Thern "Blue Seven" was available in a Toys'R'Us exclusive 4-pack titled "Battle Over Endor", and was released in January 2011 in the Shadow Of The Dark Side Collection. The set included Palso Thern, Tie-Fighter pilot Major Mianda, X-Wing pilot Grizz Frix and his astromech droid R2-T7. Palso Thern can be seen very briefly in the background in The Return Of The Jedi, during the rebel briefing before the attack on the second Death Star.
The figure utilizes the same mold as B-Wing pilot Nien Nunb, but was given a slightly different paint application on the uniform, a different helmet and a different head (the blaster is the same).
Palso Thern has 14 joints, with the neck, shoulders, elbows, the waist, knees and ankles being ball-jointed. The only swivel joints are found in the wrists and the hip. The figure stands very nicely on its own, and the included blaster is a good match for both hands. The helmet fits OK, but sits overall a little loose. Just like Nien Nunb, this figure has also two life-support cables hanging from the uniform, which can be detached. Unfortunately, the second cable, hanging down on the right side of the figure doesn't make much sense, because there isn't a hole to plug it in anywhere. It still looks cool, you just can't do anything with it. On the Nien Nunb figure it made sense, because it plugged into the front of the helmet, but Palso Thern wears a different helmet design, which doesn't have room for such a cable to be plugged-in.
The paint application on Palso Thern is nicely done and cleanly applied. The figure's sculpt with its 14 joints and fantastic head sculpt makes this figure a fantastic addition to the small legion of rebel B-Wing pilots. And, it's a never-before-done figure based on a character that appeared in the original trilogy, which we think is another strong point to add this figure to the collection!
Bravery. Skill. Loyalty. These are defining characteristics of the starfighter pilots on both sides of the conflict at the Battle Of Endor. Whether they are Rebels or Imperials, these elite pilots are all focused on the same goal: victory. They are deeply aware that they are deciding the future of the galaxy, and will do everything they can to complete their mission.
