The Dark Trooper (Phase I) was released individually carded during The Legacy Collection in Spring 2010 as a Toys'R'Us exclusive. The figure is based on the Dark Trooper design from the 1995 Dark Forces video game series.
The figure was given 14 joints, including ball-joints in the neck, shoulders, elbows, knees and ankles. The wrists, the waist and both legs are swivel jointed. The wider leg stance and the longer feet help to balance the droid out nicely and you won't need a stand to display it. The vibro blade and the blast shield fit very well into both of the Dark Trooper's hands. There are no removable panels on the droid, and the jet-pack on the back of the figure is part of the mold. All the cables are also permanently attached.
The Dark Trooper is painted nicely with a matte silver giving it a mechanical appearance. The figure stands about a head taller than a basic Star Wars figure and looks nicely detailed. The head sculpt looks brilliant, and all the cables on the droid look cool. Everything on the Dark Trooper is unique and new, and it's easy to recommend this figure for your collection!
The Dark Trooper project is the creation of Imperial General Rohm Mohc to create advanced battle droids. The project is done in phases to refine the design. The Phase One Dark Trooper has an unfinished appearance and primitive programming.
