- R-3DO was released individually carded during Star Wars Celebration Orlando on April 13, 2017 as a shared convention and Disney theme park exclusive
- R-3DO can be seen in standing next to Princess Leia in The Force Awakens at the end when the Millennium Falcon takes off to head for Ahch-To
- This protocol droid was the very first DISNEY Droid Factory protocol droid released individually carded
- The figure is based on the Disney Build-A-Droid mold, which means the droid is nicely articulated and all the limbs can be removed from the body
- Disney released all red protocol droid parts in their "Build-A-Droid" program during Galactic Nights at Hollywood Studios Orlando, FL on April 14th, 2017, one day after this figure debuted at Star Wars Celebration
- Both figures can easily be differentiated by looking at the eyes, this version reviewed here has yellow/black eyes, while the build a droid protocol droid has white/black eyes
- There were no accessories included with the droid
- R-3DO is able to hold a tool or weapon in the left hand, the droid can't hold anything in the right hand
- Disney painted the figure well with a high-gloss finish on the plating, different colors on the abdominal wiring and yellow/black eyes
- There is no wash or dirt on this droid
- The figure was sculpted well and it captures the likeness of protocol droids seen in the Star Wars movies very well
