The very first Chewbacca action figure was released in 1978 by Kenner as part of the Star Wars Early Bird Kit.
When Hasbro started to produce Star Wars action figures again in 1995, Chewbacca was among the first wave of figures. Over the years, Hasbro has released many different versions of the Wookiee, including Chewbacca as Bounty Hunter Snoova and a version based on the vintage Star Wars Marvel Comic Book series where his face is yellow.
