Black Series Force FX ELITE Darth Revan Lightsaber

Hasbro has sent the brand new Black Series Force FX ELITE Darth Revan lightsaber here for free so that you can get a closer look and more information about it. The lightsaber arrived in perfect condition inside a beautiful Darth Revan themed presentation box. The box included Darth Revan's lightsaber hilt, a blade, a 2-piece display stand, a Kyber Crystal and a barrel plug.

In the Star Wars lore, Darth Revan's journey from Sith to Jedi is evidenced by the color of his lightsaber, but as a redeemed Jedi Knight, he brandishes a lightsaber with a purple blade. Hasbro implemented this in the Force FX Elite lightsaber by pressing two buttons on the hilt simultaneously, this will change the blade color to either red or purple. 

The all metal hilt looks nice and it's easy to attach or detach the lightsaber blade. The turn on and off effect of the blade is particular impressive because the LEDs in the blade go up or down step by step, giving the impression that you are indeed igniting a real lightsaber. There are two buttons on the hilt, one is for the turn on and off effect, the other one when pressed and held adds a "slicing" effect which has the tip of the saber light up bright in different colors, giving the effect as if you are cutting through a hangar door (very cool!). When you simply press it you'll get blast effects. When you move the saber back and forth you get the typical lightsaber humming sounds, which transports you immediately back to when you were six years old. This is truly fantastic. 

Another cool sound effect is when you don't have a blade attached and the Kyber Crystal isn't inside, you get a broken sound. When you add the Kyber Crystal and turn it on you'll see the crystal glow from the top, and again, that is very cool, especially if you use the included display stand to display the saber on your desk at work. When you turn the saber on for a while, and then turn it off and remove the Kyber Crystal, it'll still glow in your hand!
