The Starspeeder 1000 Will Land On May 4, 2025!

5/1/2025 Disney May The 4th

Pre-orders on May 4, 2025, 11am ET:

Surprise drop alert, GF community! Just when we thought May 4th couldn’t get any busier, Disney has stealth-announced an updated Star Tours: The Adventures Continue Starspeeder 1000 vehicle play set—and it’s going live exclusively at the Disney Store this Sunday, May 4th at 11 a.m. ET / 8 a.m. PT.

The 3.75-inch–scaled ship sports a brand-new orange-hued paint job to match its on-ride appearance after the 2011 refresh, plus a freshly printed Star Tours logo on the hull. Inside, you’ll still find seating (with seatbelts!) for 25 action figures, working doors that chime, light-up thrusters, cannons, and a 4.75-inch LCD display up front—but Disney has now updated the cabin video loop with the modern ride footage we see in the parks today (which scenes exactly remains a secret for now).

Audio has been overhauled, too: Rex has officially clocked out, and C-3PO lines now play over the cabin speakers, perfectly echoing his reluctant promotion to pilot in STARSPEEDER 1000. Included figures switch to Droid Factory versions of R2-D2 and Threepio, but Disney hasn’t clarified whether the protocol droid will ship carded in box and loose—the way Rex did with the D23 Starspeeder 3000. We’ve contacted Disney for confirmation and will update when we hear back.

Pricing hasn’t been posted as of press time, but the listing will appear on DisneyStore.com the moment the product goes live. Bookmark that link—or, if you prefer extra redundancy, bookmark it twice: here’s that DisneyStore.com product page again for good measure.

Key carry-overs from last year’s monster playset remain intact: the display stand, functional headlights, illuminated cabin, and those glorious seatbelts that make every figure look ready for take-off. The whole package screams display centerpiece for any Star Tours shelf—or, let’s be honest, half a shelf, because this thing is huge.

Bottom line: a surprise Starspeeder 1000 on Star Wars Day is the kind of curveball collectors live for (except for the expected $300 price tag which as of this article is unconfirmed). Set your alarm, refresh that Disney Store listing, and may the boarding groups be ever in your favor. As always, keep an eye on GalacticFigures.com—we’ll post high-res press images and any clarifications the second Disney sends them over.
