The Vintage Collection LAAT/i Gunship

7/26/2025 The Vintage Collection HasLab

Hasbro has officially launched a new HasLab crowdfunding project for the Star Wars: The Vintage Collection LAAT/i Gunship. This massive TVC Gunship is a highly detailed 3.75-inch scale vehicle inspired by its appearances in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones and the Clone Wars era. The campaign is live now on Hasbro Pulse, where fans (18+ in the US, 16+ in UK/EU) can back the project. It is priced at $449.99 USD, and will run from July 25, 2025 until 11:59 PM ET on September 8, 2025. A minimum of 8,000 backers is required for the Gunship to be funded, with an expected release in Fall 2026 if successful.

The LAAT/i (Low Altitude Assault Transport/infantry) Republic Gunship is an iconic vehicle from the Clone Wars era, known for ferrying clone troopers into battle. It first roared onto screens in Attack of the Clones during the Battle of Geonosis and later appeared in Revenge of the Sith. Republic Gunships feature prominently throughout all 7 seasons of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series, as well as in other media like The Bad Batch, countless Star Wars novels, comics, and video games. This HasLab offering is the ultimate version of the gunship for collectors, significantly larger and more detailed than any previous toy incarnation.

Campaign Basics – What’s Included: If the base funding goal of 8,000 backers is reached, backers will receive the following:

  • The Vintage Collection LAAT/i Republic Gunship Vehicle: A fully detailed Republic Attack Gunship in 3.75-inch scale, with the classic red-and-white color scheme from Episode II. This vehicle is dramatically upsized and upgraded from the older 2002-2013 era toy versions. It measures approximately 28 inches long, 30.9 inches wide, and 10.6 inches tall (without a stand), making it large enough to fit numerous figures. For example, troopers can stand fully upright in the cargo bay without “bumping their heads” on the ceiling.
  • Two Exclusive Clone Trooper Pilot Figures (3.75-inch scale): The Gunship comes with 2 pilot action figures in Vintage Collection style. These pilots feature the yellow-highlighted clone pilot helmets as seen in Episode II. Each figure will include two accessories (notably, according to Hasbro, each pilot comes armed with two blaster rifles). You can seat the pilots in the cockpit or pose them hanging out of the side doorways for dynamic display.
  • Two Display Stands: Backers get both a “flight mode” stand and a “hover mode” stand. The flight stand supports the gunship in an airborne pose, as if it’s swooping into battle. The hover stand displays the Gunship low to the ground with the bay doors open, allowing clone troopers to deploy. These sturdy bases let you show off the Gunship in either an in-flight action scene or a landed transport configuration.
  • Alternate Nose Art Panels: The set includes additional forward nose art panel pieces to customize the Gunship’s appearance. In total, there are 3 different nose art designs (the default plus two alternate sets) that you can swap on the front section of the ship. This means fans can display the LAAT/i with different iconic nose art deco inspired by its various appearances in the films or the Clone Wars series.

Ultimate Detail and Features: The HasLab Vintage Collection Gunship is loaded with features that make it the most accurate and playable version of the Republic Gunship ever. Every aspect of the vehicle has been engineered for screen-accurate detail and interactive play/display potential. Some of the key features include:

  • Top Missile Launchers: Two mounted missile pods sit on the top of the gunship, each loaded with 9 removable missiles. Eight missiles are housed in rotating racks inside each launcher pod, and one is positioned in the “launch chamber” ready to fire. All missiles can be individually removed, allowing collectors to pose the gunship fully armed or in the middle of reloading/firing sequences.
  • Detailed Cockpit: The front cockpit features a removable canopy (windshield piece) and has seats for two pilot figures. You can easily place the included Clone Pilot figures inside. The interior of the cockpit is fully detailed with controls, and removing the canopy gives access to position or adjust your pilots.
  • Bubble Turret Gunner Stations: The LAAT/i’s signature spherical front ball turrets on either side of the forward fuselage are included. Each bubble turret can swivel and open up, allowing you to sit a 3.75-inch figure inside as a door gunner. These turrets feature posable laser cannons to recreate their wide firing arcs. (Figures are not included for the turrets, but you can use any compatible clone trooper or Jedi figures from your collection.)
  • Side Boarding Doors: The Gunship’s side cargo bay doors are designed as slow-opening, hinged panels. You can slide them open to reveal the troop compartment or close them for a sleek, in-flight look. For a fully enclosed display, the set also provides optional side panel pieces that can replace the doors, giving the gunship a sealed hull appearance (useful for showing it in space or atmospheric flight without the doors open).
  • Spacious Cargo Bay: Inside the troop bay, the interior is highly detailed and scaled to fit numerous troopers. Thanks to the larger size of this model, you can stand standard Vintage Collection clone troopers or Jedi figures upright inside. The interior features sculpted details, including inner wall designs and weapon racks. Removable forward roof panels can be taken off to reveal additional inner sculpted details from above, allowing better access and visibility into the cabin.
  • Wing Armaments: Under each wing are four missiles/rockets (for a total of 8 underneath the wings) that can be attached or removed individually. At the tips of each wing, the LAAT/i carries a rotating turret cannon; these wing-mounted cannons are included and can spin/click into place, adding extra firepower just like in the films.
  • Rear Laser Cannon & Boarding Ramp: The back of the gunship features a rear-facing laser cannon (toward the base of the tail). This cannon is posable, allowing you to aim it as needed to cover the gunship’s tail. The rear boarding ramp beneath it can hinge open downward, just as seen on screen when troops and Jedi disembark from the aft of the gunship. You can pose the ship with the ramp down to simulate deployment of troops or loading of equipment.
  • Hidden Storage Compartment: There is a concealed storage area on the top of the gunship, located behind the cockpit. A removable panel on the top opens up to reveal this compartment. This space is perfect for stowing away small accessories, extra missiles, or weapons so you don’t lose them. It’s a fun little addition for collectors who want to keep all the pieces with the vehicle.

All of these features make the HasLab Republic Gunship a dream collectible for Vintage Collection enthusiasts, effectively creating a movie-accurate dropship that doubles as a playset for your Clone Wars figures. Now, beyond the base offering, Hasbro has also planned three bonus unlockable tiers that will enhance the package if higher backer counts are reached. Each tier is a newly tooled action figure – Jedi characters that complement the Gunship’s Geonosis rescue theme – presented on exclusive Vintage Collection cardbacks. Here are the details for each stretch goal tier:

  • Tier 1 – Coleman Trebor (Unlocks at 10,000 backers): A 3.75-inch scale figure of Jedi Master Coleman Trebor, carded in Vintage Collection packaging. This Vurk Jedi is famous for his appearance in Attack of the Clones – he’s the towering Jedi Council member who attempted to confront Count Dooku during the Battle of Geonosis, only to be dramatically shot down by Jango Fett. Coleman Trebor has never before been made in the Vintage Collection, making this his debut in the line. The figure is appropriately tall (approximately 4.5 inches in height to reflect his larger stature in-universe) and comes with multiple accessories: an ignited lightsaber, an unlit lightsaber hilt, a soft-goods (fabric) Jedi robe, and an interchangeable hand posed for using the Force.
  • Tier 2 – Saesee Tiin (Unlocks at 12,000 backers): A 3.75-inch Vintage Collection figure of Saesee Tiin, the Iktotch Jedi Master, also presented on an exclusive card. Saesee Tiin was a member of the Jedi Council who fought bravely in the Geonosis arena rescue mission, and later served throughout the Clone Wars (fans will also remember he is a skilled starfighter pilot in the lore). This is the first time Saesee Tiin is appearing in the TVC line. The figure will come with his green-bladed lightsaber, an unlit hilt accessory, a soft-goods Jedi robe, and an interchangeable “Force gesture” hand. Saesee Tiin’s inclusion lets collectors recreate the Jedi strike team from Episode II and the Jedi High Council.
  • Tier 3 – Agen Kolar (Unlocks at 14,000 backers): A 3.75-inch figure of Jedi Master Agen Kolar on a Vintage Collection card. Agen Kolar is another Jedi Council member who fought alongside Mace Windu (and Saesee Tiin) when they went to arrest Chancellor Palpatine in Revenge of the Sith. He also appears in the Clone Wars era stories and is often associated with Saesee in action scenes. Like the others, this is Agen Kolar’s first-ever figure in The Vintage Collection. He will come armed with his blue lightsaber, an unlit hilt, a soft-goods robe, and an extra Force-posed hand. Unlocking Agen Kolar would round out the trio of Jedi who can accompany your Gunship, making it a true “Jedi rescue” set.

Each of these tier figures will only be produced if the campaign reaches the required number of backers for that tier. If all tiers unlock, backers would receive the Gunship plus all three Jedi figures, adding tremendous value and collectible significance to the set. Even without the tiers, the base offering itself is an impressively complete package, but these bonus figures make it even more exciting for completists and diorama builders.

How to Back the HasLab Gunship: If you’re interested in adding the Vintage Collection Republic Gunship to your collection, you can place a backing on the official Hasbro Pulse campaign page. Remember, the project only goes into production if the minimum 8,000 backers is reached by the deadline. As of this writing, the Gunship HasLab is in the “Currently Funding” phase. Fans from eligible regions can back one (or multiple) units by logging into their Hasbro Pulse account and proceeding through the checkout process (note: payment methods will be charged only if the project is successful at the end of the campaign). The Gunship is a HasLab exclusive item – meaning it won’t be sold at retail stores – so backing the campaign is the way to secure this set.

This HasLab project represents a dream come true for many Star Wars collectors, especially those who grew up with the prequel trilogy and the Clone Wars. The combination of a gigantic, meticulously detailed TVC Republic Gunship and brand-new Vintage Collection Jedi figures is a centerpiece setup that fans have imagined for years. From the Geonosis arena rescue in Episode II to your shelf at home, the HasLab Vintage Collection Gunship is poised to deliver an unforgettable collectible. Don’t miss the chance to back this campaign before it closes on September 8, 2025 – if successful, we’ll see this Gunship deployed to collections in late 2026, bringing the epic Clone Wars scenes to life in stunning detail.

You can find out more details or back the project on the official Hasbro Pulse HasLab page for the Vintage Collection Gunship.
