Maul Shadow Lord - Trailer, Poster & Release Date

StarWars.com revealed new details today about Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord, which launches on Disney+ with a two-episode premiere on April 6, 2026. The animated series will release two episodes per week, culminating in the finale on Star Wars Day, May the 4th.

Set after the events of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the series follows Maul as he plots to rebuild his criminal syndicate on the untouched planet Janix. His plans take a turn when he encounters a disillusioned Jedi Padawan who may become the apprentice he seeks in his pursuit of revenge.

Sam Witwer returns as the voice of Maul, joined by Gideon Adlon as Devon Izara, Wagner Moura as Brander Lawson, and Richard Ayoade as Two-Boots. The series features a stylized animation approach that blends gritty cityscapes with traditional filmmaking techniques, creating a distinct painterly visual style.
