Maul Shadow Lord - New Trailer

Lucasfilm and Disney have released a new trailer for Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord, giving fans a better look at the story, the timeline, and several of the new characters appearing in the series.

Set during the early days of Emperor Palpatine’s reign and the rise of the evil Empire, Maul - Shadow Lord takes place in a dangerous period when the galaxy is changing fast and Imperial power is spreading into every corner. The trailer makes it clear that Maul remains consumed by darkness as he works to rebuild his criminal power while pursuing revenge.

The new footage also introduces several characters tied to the story, including Jedi Padawan Devon Izara, Jedi Master Eeko-Dio Daki, the scheming scoundrel Looti Vario, Zabrak brothers Icarus and Scorn, police detective Captain Brander Lawson, his droid partner Two-Boots, and Lawson’s son Rylee. The trailer also highlights the world of Janix, where Maul’s path appears to collide with both law enforcement and surviving Jedi.

Overall, the new trailer paints Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord as a dark and pulpy adventure set in the shadow of the Empire. The series begins with a two-episode premiere on Disney+ on April 6, 2026, followed by two new episodes each week leading into the finale on Star Wars Day, May 4th.
