The Battle Of Geonosis Progress

With the reveal of the Oray and Geonosian Picador set in The Vintage Collection, it feels like the perfect time to revisit the early poster sketch that Mr. Evans shared on Instagram. The artwork gives us a broader look at how the Battle of Geonosis is shaping up within the line, and it also hints at what may still be coming.

Battle Of Geonosis

At the center of the sketch is the HasLab Gunship, clearly positioned as the focal point of this entire Battle of Geonosis setup. The artwork shows several Jedi inside the ship, and since some Jedi figures were unlockable tiers for the Gunship HasLab campaign we assume that the figures portraied are Saesee Tiin, Agen Kolar and Colman Trebor. Unfortunately only Trebor funded. The vehicle also includes two Clone Trooper Pilot figures (one carded, one loose), and hopefully Hasbro will release the pilot on an alternate card down the line so that we canthe Gunship alongside three Jedi, although only one of those tiers ultimately funded. The vehicle also includes two Clone Trooper Pilot figures fill the gun turrets and the second pilot seat so that we don't have to tear into the exclusive card.

On the right side of the poster it said "larger item", which is likely hte Oray and Geonosian Picador set which was just revealed. Looking at the front of the Gunship in the sketch, there are markings labeled “ST” and “P,” which stands for Shaak Ti and Padmé, both which have been released already.

On the left side of the artwork, there appears to be a Geonosian figure in the background with raised arms, possibly representing Poggle The Lesser. The sketch also includes notes such as “mixed group troop builder” and “mix,” which seem to reference additional troop-builder packs. Given that all forces are shown attacking the Gunship, this strongly suggests future releases like a Battle Droid pack or a Geonosian Warrior troop builder set.

Taking everything together, it is nice to see how the Battle of Geonosis is steadily expanding and we are looking forward to looking at the full set up at the end of the year when we have the items in hand and know what Hasbro had been cooking. We will continue to follow all developments closely, so stay tuned to GalacticFigures.com for the latest updates on The Vintage Collection, the Battle of Geonosis, and the HasLab Gunship!
