New Black Series Reveals With C-3PO, R2-D2, Boba Fett And A Stormtrooper Based On The 1985 Star Wars: Droids Cartoon!

Out of nowhere, Hasbro has revealed four new 6-inch Star Wars The Black Series figures based on the classic 1985 animated series Star Wars: Droids - The Adventures Of R2-D2 And C-3PO.

The newly announced figures include C-3PO, R2-D2, Boba Fett and a Stormtrooper, all four inspired by their colorful animated appearances from the vintage Droids cartoon. Each figure will be released individually carded, with packaging designed to pay tribute to the original animated series and its unique 1980s Star Wars style.

For longtime collectors, this is a fun surprise reveal from one of the more nostalgic corners of the Star Wars galaxy. The Droids cartoon has always had a distinct look, and seeing those four figures released in The Black Series in this style gives fans another animated-era release to add to the shelf in addition to the previously released Boba Fett figure.
