Full Summary - All Star Wars Action Figure Announcements Pre-NYCC 2026

Hasbro previewed new Star Wars action figures for 2027 during its October fan stream this morning, including updated R2-D2 and C-3PO figures for The Vintage Collection, a Star Wars Rebels three-pack and the first Black Series Saga wave. Below is a breakdown of the announcements, including release windows, pre-order dates and where the figures will be available.

The Vintage Collection

• R2-D2: An updated figure based on his early Tatooine appearance in A New Hope, coming in wave 1 of 2027, now smaller than previous astromech droids.
• C-3PO: An updated figure with revised proportions (taller than previous versions), also based on A New Hope, coming in wave 2 of 2027.
• Star Wars Rebels three-pack: Includes Season 1 Sabine Wren (Deluxe), Kanan Jarrus in Stormtrooper disguise and Season 1 Ezra Bridger (Deluxe), all three are single carded inside a box which pays homage to the HasLab Ghost packaging

Hasbro kicked off The Vintage Collection announcements with new versions of R2-D2 and C-3PO. C-3PO is taller than the previous figure, while R2-D2 is slightly shorter, bringing both closer to their on-screen proportions. C-3PO features a restraining bolt, a dented head and a removable arm. R2-D2 comes with an interchangeable restraining-bolt panel, a removable dome and a retractable center leg. It's also good to hear that the smaller R2-D2 will still fit into the droid sockets of previously released vehicles.

Both droids are mainline releases scheduled for spring 2027, with R2-D2 arriving in wave 1 and C-3PO following in wave 2. Pre-order dates will be announced later. These initial releases use molded gold for C-3PO and molded silver for R2-D2's dome. Hasbro also confirmed that shinier (vac-metal?) versions are in development, but did not provide release dates for those.

For Star Wars Rebels fans, Hasbro revealed a three-pack featuring Sabine Wren, Kanan Jarrus in Stormtrooper disguise and Ezra Bridger. Sabine wears her Season 1 outfit and includes an interchangeable helmet. Kanan has an updated torso for his disguise, a Stormtrooper helmet and both ignited and unignited lightsabers.

Season 1 Ezra Bridger is an entirely new figure, with updated articulation, his disguise helmet, a removable backpack and ignited and unignited versions of his lightsaber. This set completes the Season 1 Ghost crew in The Vintage Collection, giving collectors more familiar faces to add alongside the HasLab Ghost.

The Rebels three-pack is scheduled for spring 2027. Pre-orders open October 7, 2026, at 1 p.m. ET / 10 a.m. PT through Hasbro Pulse, Fan Channel retailers and Amazon.

The set is the first announced release in Hasbro's 2027 HasLab Halo program, which will revisit existing Vintage Collection HasLabs with supporting products. Hasbro reiterated that no Vintage Collection HasLab is scheduled to ship in 2027, but said each existing project will receive support.

The Black Series

• Queen Amidala: The Phantom Menace. Previously announced at San Diego Comic-Con and now shown in final-production form.
• Anakin Skywalker (Padawan): Attack of the Clones. An updated figure with an additional Force-push hand and lightsaber-swing effect.
• Galactic Marine: Revenge of the Sith. A new addition to the Black Series lineup.
• Luke Skywalker (X-wing Pilot): A New Hope. An entirely new figure with a movable helmet visor.
• IG-88: The Empire Strikes Back. An updated, taller figure with revised proportions.
• Tessek: Return of the Jedi. Squidhead makes his Black Series debut.
• Stormtrooper: A separate A New Hope release featuring adjustable height, with mainline and retailer-exclusive card variants.

The first six figures above make up the 2027 Black Series Saga wave, with one character representing each of Episodes I through VI. Hasbro plans to begin each year with an assortment following this format, and work on the 2028 follow-up is already underway.

All six Saga wave figures are mainline releases scheduled for spring 2027. Pre-orders open October 15, 2026, at 1 p.m. ET / 10 a.m. PT through Hasbro Pulse, Fan Channel retailers, Amazon and other pop-culture retailers.

Queen Amidala features a soft-goods outfit over a fully articulated body. Padawan Anakin Skywalker builds on the recent Episode III figure with a new head, right arm, belt and outfit details, along with the additional Force-push hand and lightsaber-swing effect.

The Galactic Marine features a largely new sculpt, a backpack and updated articulation. Besides Queen Amidala, this Galactic Marine is a standout and an often requested figure in our community.

For the original trilogy, Luke Skywalker in his X-wing pilot outfit has been rebuilt from the ground up, with updated articulation and a helmet visor that moves up and down. IG-88 receives a height and proportion update, new body components, two blasters, an axe and a removable holster. Meanwhile, Tessek adds another familiar face from Jabba's Palace to the line, complete with soft-goods clothing, flexible facial tentacles and a blaster.

Hasbro also revealed a new Stormtrooper based on the original 1977 armor. The biggest addition is adjustable height: telescoping sections in the torso, thighs and upper arms allow collectors to vary the proportions of individual troopers. For anyone building an Imperial squad, that means the figures no longer have to stand at exactly the same height. Other features include toe articulation, a solid helmet, a newly sculpted E-11 blaster and a functioning holster.

The Stormtrooper will be offered as a mainline release on a gold 50th-anniversary card in spring 2027, with pre-order details coming later. A Kenner-style card variant will be exclusive to Target, Walmart and Disney Parks in the United States, with Fan Channel distribution outside the U.S. A separate release date for that variant was not provided. Hasbro also confirmed that additional figures will follow in the gold anniversary format.

More Star Wars Figure News

The Retro Collection will have an expanded lineup in 2027, with a major update planned for November 2026. No Retro Collection figures were revealed during this presentation, but they previously announced 28 figures for next year, along with three larger items.

Hasbro also teased more news for New York Comic Con. The Vintage Collection segment ended with an on-camera hint (an unpainted X-Wing pilot helmet prototype).
