Star Wars The Black Series Fans' Choice Poll 2016 - TOP 6

7/18/2016

Before we give you some thoughts about the TOP 6 most wished for The Black Series action figures in 2016, let's take a look at what all of you didn't want.

A Look At The Nominations!

It was a pretty big surprise that The Force Awakens characters weren't more popular. Luke Skywalker made it into the TOP 6, but nobody wanted a General Leia Organa figure from The Force Awakens and nobody requested a Han Solo in "Starkiller coat" figure. Only one vote was given to Admiral Ackbar, Sidon Ithano, Jessika Pava, Bazine Netal (First Order Spy), Maz Kanata and the First Order Heavy Artillery Stormtrooper. Supreme Leader Snoke received five nominations, which was not nearly enough to get him into the TOP 10 (Matt the Radar Technician by the way had 7 votes). Rey (Resistance Outfit), Unkar Plutt, KanjiKlub members, Bala-Tik or any First Order personnel, all no votes.

The most popular prequel characters were General Grievous and Qui-Gon Jinn, both of them made it into the TOP 10. The third most requested prequel figure was Count Dooku, followed by Aayla Secura and Jar Jar Binks (yes, Jar Jar Binks). There were some requests for other prequel characters, but none of them had more than one or two votes. Some of those characters included Battle Droids, Aura Sing, burnt Episode III Anakin, Episode II Padme Amidala, Episode II Anakin Skywalker and Senator Palpatine. Prequel Clone Troopers were not high in demand.

The most requested characters from the Original Trilogy were the Gamorrean Guard and Lando Calrissian, followed closely by the Imperial Royal Guard and Dengar. Yes, Dengar. Lando however showed up multiple times during the nomination process, but unfortunately only the Bespin outfit made it into the final round. The only Han Solo figure requested from The Original Trilogy was Han in his Bespin outfit. Apparently nobody wants a Grand Moff Tarkin action figure, except for me.

Star Wars Rebels was the least popular in the poll. Hera Syndulla made it into the TOP 10 (and finished last), but there was only one vote for Chopper, one vote for Agent Kallus and old man Maul, and only one vote for a battle damaged Darth Vader. Some people voted for old man Rex and Sabine (who has already been announced as being in production). No other characters from Star Wars Rebels were voted for, no votes for Ezra Bridger and none for Zeb.

Non-movie characters were very popular again this year, four of them made it into the TOP 6. Starkiller from The Force Unleashed video game series was among the top figures requested, just like in last year's Fan's Choice Poll. Darth Talon and Jaina Solo performed strongly. Jaina Solo, our winner, jumped to the top quickly after some fans found out about the poll and began campaining for it on social media.

Whoever nominated Marty McFly, thank you, you made me laugh.
