Released in 2007 as part of Hasbro's 30th Anniversary Collection, the Hailfire Droid brought one of the Separatist army's most recognizable battlefield vehicles back to store shelves. This Hailfire Droid was released in 2007 in the 30th Anniversary Collection for $19.99 as a mainline vehicle release. The vehicle itself is a repaint of the Hailfire Droid that had already been released in 2003 during the Clone Wars toy line.

Hailfire Droids can be seen during the Battle of Geonosis in Attack Of The Clones, and of course, they were also featured heavily in the Clone Wars animated series. This release did not include an action figure.
The packaging was kept in the typical 30th Anniversary Collection style, with the top left corner slanted. The front of the box features a drawn image of the Hailfire Droid in battle, and it looks very cool. The artwork almost looks like it could be showing an attack on Kashyyyk, with the vehicle rolling into battle as part of the Separatist forces.

Once the box is opened, some assembly is required, but it should not take more than five minutes. There are not many pieces to put together. The two wheels plug into the main body, the two missile launchers plug into the top of the body, and the two-piece cannon attaches to the bottom. After that, the vehicle is ready for display.

There were no stickers included with this release, which is one difference when compared to the 2003 Clone Wars Hailfire Droid, which did include stickers.
Hasbro included 32 missiles with the vehicle, which need to be placed into the two rocket launchers on top of the body. There is no traditional spring-loaded firing mechanism, but when pressure is applied to the back of the missiles, they can be launched from the vehicle.

Both wheels can turn, so the Hailfire Droid can be moved around on the battlefield. The main body does not open, and there is no room for an action figure to sit inside. What you see is basically what you get here.

The cannon on the bottom of the body can swivel 360 degrees, and the front section of the cannon can also move up and down. This makes it easy to pose the Hailfire Droid as if it is firing at incoming Republic Gunships or other battlefield targets.

The sculpting on the Hailfire Droid looks very detailed, and the vehicle has a nicely designed mechanical appearance. The paint application was also handled well, with different shades of brown used throughout the body. It does look as if it just rolled out of the factory, so there is no real battle damage or heavy weathering, but the overall finish still looks very good.

This is still a very cool looking vehicle, even all these years after its release. Place a few 3 3/4-inch Battle Droids next to it, or display it in the background of a Separatist army shelf or diorama, and it still looks phenomenal.

If you are a fan of the Clone Wars, the Battle of Geonosis, or if you want to build out a Separatist display in your collection, this Hailfire Droid is definitely worth adding to your shelf.
Thanks for reading, and happy collecting!

A self-aware mobile missile-platform used by the InterGalactic Banking Clan, Hailfire Droids deliver surface-to-surface and surface-to-air strikes with their stacked banks of rocket warheads. When the InterGalactic Banking Clan pledged its forces to the Separatists (a non-exclusive arrangement, of course), its Hailfire Droids were added to the immense battle droid army.
