• This Chewbacca action figure was released in the Star Wars Retro Collection single carded on May 1st, 2019 exclusively at Target stores
• The figure was only exclusive to Target for a limited time, towards the Fall of 2019 it was sold through several online specialty shops such as Entertainment Earth
• This version of Chewie is a faithful recreation of the original Kenner Chewbacca action figure from 1978 (you can look at the original figure in our archive here: Kenner Chewbacca)

• Hasbro measured/scanned the original figure and captured all the details (and lack thereof) in this figure, right down to the size of the peg holes in the bottom of the feet
• There are some differences however, for example this new version of Chewbacca has shorter legs than the original version in addition to updated copyright markings on the back of both legs
• We looked at this figure carefully to see if there are any differences in the fur and we can't make any changes out
• The bowcaster is also an exact replica of the original one, except it's a very shiny black
• If you find any other differences in the figure or in the bowcaster please post it in the comments below
• Unfortunately the bowcaster doesn't fit well into Chewbacca's right hand, it keeps falling down (this wasn't an issue with the original Kenner figure)
• Chewbacca leans slightly to the left
• Chewie's eyes were painted very sloppily, especially when compared to the 1978 Kenner version
• The packaging was weathered on the outside on purpose to differentiate the Star Wars Retro Collection from the original Kenner figures
• The red Retro Collection sticker can be taken off (you will need to use a hair dryer), but we don't recommend that you do that, because there is a very high possibility that you will damage the card (the sticker is very tough to get off)
• All in all, this Retro Collection Chewbacca is the weakest out of the launch line-up figures from May 2019, the height difference is quite significant and easy to spot when compared to an original 1978 Kenner Chewbacca
