MORE INFORMATION

  • This color-changing C1 Astromech Droid was released in a 4-pack together with a BB-Unit, R2 astromech droid and a RA-7 Protocol Droid
  • The set was available on opening day of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland, CA on May 31, 2019
  • This droid changes colors based on the temperature, it can be displayed with a black color scheme (cold) or in orange "Chopper" colors (warm)
  • The color change can be achieved by either dipping the droid in cold or warm water, or by simply placing it in a freezer or rubbing it with your hands to warm the figure up
  • The droid's original color when it was still in its packaging was the black version, that's why we photographed it in its black color for the website entry
  • The other color which this droid can be changed to is orange/white, to see both colors side by side have a look here
  • The recommended temperature mentioned on the packaging for the color change to occur is 86° to 107.6° Fahrenheit (30° - 42° Celsius) and 32° - 64° Fahrenheit (0° - 18° Celsius)
  • Once the droid's color has changed it will remain in this color, however, if you have it displayed with the color in its cold state, and you touch it to adjust the pose, it will likely warm up the figure and the color will change where you touched it
  • For this figure Disney used their build-a-droid sculpt, this allows for the droid to be taken apart into the dome, 2 legs, the body and the middle leg with the wheel
  • Essentially this C1 astromech droid is a re-release of C1-10P "Chopper" figure from 2017 (without the booster rocket which in the previous version could be plugged into the bottom of the body, and there is no 3rd outer leg included) and the color-changing feature
  • The antenna can be removed from the dome
  • The two "arms" or tools which stick out of the sides of the dome can be removed
  • Disney included two arm/tool extensions which can be plugged into those already existing arms in the dome (those are alread attached to the body but they can be removed)
  • The dome can be rotated 360°
  • The arm in the front of the body can be moved out
  • The figure keeps its balance very well
