MORE INFORMATION

This Commander Ponds figure was released as a Toys'r'us exclusive at the end of July 2009. The figure could be purchased individually at $9.99, a higher price than regular figures. Toys'r'us stores in the United States will also give this figure away for free with a $30 purchase between Sept. 27 and Oct. 3.

Commander Ponds is super articulated with 14 joints, including two ball-jointed wrists and a ball-jointed waist. This guarantees that you'll be able to use this figure in any battle diorama. The figure is kept clean and shows no battle markings, but the paint application is cleanly applied and looks good, especially the facial area with the three-day beard looks nice. In the Clone Wars TV show, Commander Ponds has some writing on the back of his helmet. Hasbro noticed that, and included this detail on the figure's helmet. The Clone helmet fits nicely over Ponds' head and can easily be put on or be removed.

The figure came with 2 blasters, which both fit nicely into the holsters on both sides of Ponds' belt. Unfortunately though, they don't fit as well into his hands and the Commander just can't get a good grip on them. The blaster rifle comes pre-attached with the typical small see-through rubber band, and it might be a good idea to just keep it attached. The figure has no balancing issues, but if you are more comfortable using a stand, you can do so because Hasbro included the typical peg holes in the figure's feet. All in all, this is a pretty nice Commander Ponds figure, he's super articulated, he came with three weapons and a removable helmet, and he looks just like he did in the Clone Wars TV show.
