• Retro Collection Dr. Evazan was first announced on December 12, 2024, at the Farthest From vintage Star Wars collectors convention in the UK
• This version of Dr. Evazan from the 3 3/4" Retro Collection was released as a single-carded figure, included in a 6-pack
• The set was released exclusively through Target stores in May 2025
• The other figures in this set were: The other figures in this set were: Han Solo Stormtrooper, Walrusman, Sandtrooper, Rebel Fleet Trooper and Luke Skywalker (Yavin)
• The release was surrounded by controversy after Target cancelled all preorders approximately two weeks before the scheduled ship date
• This may have been related to the Trump-era tariffs, during which retailers like Amazon and Hasbro Pulse halted Star Wars figure preorders due to cost uncertainties (though this remains speculative)
• Unexpectedly, some Target stores began receiving shipments, but the set remained difficult for many collectors to find
• For the first time in the Retro Collection Hasbro made the sticker easy to come off on the figure's card, simply pull it off and you will not see glue residue (at the time the figures were released)
• Hasbro included two different blasters with Dr. Evazan, one is his own blaster, the other one belongs to Walrusman
• The Walrusman figure came with a regular Stormtrooper blaster to pay homage to the original release from 1979, which also came with a Stormtrooper blaster
• By including two weapons here with Dr. Evazan, it's a nice way to give fans a more accurate weapon for Walrusman while also keeping the figure faithful to its original release
• Both weapons fit well into Dr. Evazan's hands
• This is another figure release in the Retro Collection which falls under the "Kenner never got to it" in the 1970s and 1980s category
• The figure was sculpted nicely, and fits right in with Kenner vintage figures
• Dr. Evazan stands securely on display without falling over
