MORE KP-1 INFO

  • This figure was announced on September 9, 2026 on DisneyStore.com and was released about one month later on October 2nd, 2026 in Disney Parks and DisneyStore.com
  • The droid is featured in the Star Wars: Kenobi tv series
  • KP-1 is an entirely new droid which has never been done before in the 3 3/4" line
  • Unfortunately KP-1 is surprisingly limited in articulated, you can only rotate the dome and move the neck around
  • There are no removable parts on this droid
  • The dome has a hole in it where accessories from other Droid Factory figures can be plugged in
  • There really isn't much you can do with it, but it makes for a cool and never-before-made droid which you can place into any diorama to spice it up
  • KP-1 stands very securely on display with no balancing issues
  • Here is some background information on how the droid came about:

KP-1 was created by French Star Wars fan Camille Manet, who won the 2019 Build My Droid contest with her original astromech design. Organized by Lucasfilm's Star Wars: Force for Change initiative and robotics organization FIRST, the competition accepted submissions from October 22 through November 13, 2019. StarWars.com published its announcement of Manet's winning design on December 18, 2019. Named after "Knave Puff," KP-1 features a distinctive cone-shaped body consisting of three modular sections. Lucasfilm art director Doug Chiang helped refine the design for the screen, with Manet's original pink-and-red color scheme changed to green and tan. KP-1 made its television debut in Part V of Obi-Wan Kenobi, released on Disney+ on June 15, 2022. The droid first appears around the 5:12 mark, offering food to a child at the civilian outpost on Jabiim, and later helps seal a door.
