MORE INFORMATION

This Commando Droid Captain was released as part of the Rishi Moon Outpost Attack battle pack in the fall of 2009. The set included this figure, two Commando Droid figures, and a Clone Trooper Newbie figure. Commando droids can be seen in various episodes, but they played a more dominant role in the episode titled "Rookies" from the first season of the Clone Wars.

Like the other Commando Droid figures in the set, this Commando Droid Captain is a repaint of the previously single carded released Commando Droid from July 2009. This time around the droid was given stronger colors, and the Commando Droid Captain markings in the facial area and the upper body. In addition to that, Hasbro included a Clone Trooper helmet, and a vibro blade with removable blue lightning with the figure, which were not included previously.

The droid has 13 joints, including a ball-jointed head, and a separately articulated neck joint which can be moved back and forth. The blaster fits very well into both of the droid's hands, and it can be plugged into the droid's back, so he can carry it around. The vibro blade is also a good fit for both hands. Thanks to ball-jointed legs, knees and ankles, you can adjust the Commando Droid's stance easily so that he can stand on his own without need for additional support. Overall, it's a nice figure of a character that has not been done before. It's a welcome addition to any Commando Droid display, as you now have a figure which can lead your other Commando Droid's into battle.
