This Qui-Gon Jinn in Jedi Training Gear was released single carded during The Power Of The Jedi toy line in 2001. Qui-Gon Jinn is based on concept drawings and was never seen wearing this outfit in The Phantom Menace.
The Jedi has 6 joints, a swivel neck, 2 swivel arms, a swivel waist, and 2 swivel hips. Despite the lack of articulated knees and ankles, the figure manages to keep the balance nicely without support from a stand. The only accessory included with Qui-Gon was a green lightsaber, which the figure has no trouble holding with either hand.
The paint application on the Jedi is OK, but nothing spectacular. The Jedi Training Gear is kept in a pristine condition without any dirt or battle markings on it. The mold is well done and nicely detailed. All in all, this Jedi Training Gear Qui-Gon Jinn lacks when it comes to articulation, but it still makes for a great looking figure on display.
Qui-Gon Jinn is a Jedi devoted to maintaining order and justice in the galaxy. He, like most Jedi, feels it is his duty to pass on what he has learned to the next generation of Jedi. He does so by taking a Padawan to mentor. During the training process, Qui-Gon often wears his Jedi training gear for protection when sparring with his trainee.
