Starkiller Galen Marek in "Mandalorian" outfit was released in the second of two Toys'r'us exclusive The Force Unleashed multipacks. The sets were released in May of 2010 during The Legacy Collection, and each set contained 5 Star Wars figures. This version of Galen Marek is based on the first The Force Unleashed game, and can be seen worn by Starkiller on Bespin.
Galen Marek is super articulated with 14 movable joints, including ball-joints in the neck, shoulders, elbows, knees and ankles. The forearms, the waist and both legs are swivel jointed. Even though the neck is ball-jointed, the head can only be moved side to side, because the armor covers the neck very tightly. There were two accessories included with Starkiller, a red lightsaber, and a Mandalorian helmet. Unfortunately, just like the other Galen Marek figure from the first multipack, the figure can't hold the lightsaber, so you want to keep the little rubber plastic band in place. The Mandalorian helmet is made out of very soft plastic, but it fits well and covers Galen Marek's entire head. No other parts of the outfit are removable.
The paint application on Galen Marek turned out OK, but not spectacular. There are some dark red, dark blue and dark brown colors on the outfit with a black body suit underneath. The armor parts are painted in a dull silver, while the pants are kept in a lighter blue with some dark gray colors on the boots. Unfortunately though, there is no weathering or dirt anywhere on the figure, which would have been appropriate considering Galen Marek's appearance in this outfit in the video game. The sculpt however is great, including the face and the details over the entire outfit. All things considered, this version of Galen Marek can easily be recommended, it's a super articulated figure, and a version of The Force Unleashed main character which has not been released before.
Galen Marek is the secret apprentice of Darth Vader and the son of Jedi. He is taken by the Sith Lord during the Great Jedi Purge and given the codename Starkiller. Vader trains him in the ways of the Force and promises to reward him with great power.
