This Princess Leia in Bespin Gown was released in a Princess Leia Collection 2-pack, during the The Power Of The Force 2 collection in 1997. The second figure in the set was a Han Solo in Bespin Gear. Princess Leia is based on her appearance on Bespin in The Empire Strikes Back.
Kenner/Hasbro gave the figure 5 swivel joints, one in the neck, one in each shoulder, and one in each leg. The figure's waist is not movable. With no way to adjust the knees or ankles, the figure stands very shaky. Luckily, Leia has one peg hole in the right foot, which is enough to place her on a stand. There was no weapon included with Leia, but in the movie she wasn't seen carrying one in this specific outfit either. And even though there wasn't a weapon included, Kenner/Hasbro made the shoulder pads, the white gown, the belt and the soft-goods skirt removable.
The paint application on Bespin Leia is cleanly applied, but pretty basic. The glittery colors on the soft-goods skirt are out of place and don't resemble the look the dress had in the movie. The white gown looks quite nice with lots of patterns in it, but it doesn't appear as if Kenner/Hasbro tried to copy the movie version too closely. The facial sculpt and Leia's hairstyle still looks nice after all these years. Unfortunately, this figure was released at a time when there wasn't much attention paid to scale, and the figure is too tall for Leia. Overall, this figure was OK for its time, but there are better options available for Bespin Leia these days.
The formidable sight of Darth Vader strikes a reflex reaction in Han Solo's trigger finger, but the Dark Lord's power proves too great and Princess Leia and her band of Rebels are taken captive.
