MORE INFORMATION

This Darth Maul figure was released in a The Shadow Of The Dark Side comic 2-pack together with Owen Lars. The set was a San Diego Comic Con exclusive in 2010 and is based on the Dark Horse comic book series: Star Wars: Visionaries "Old Wounds".

Darth Maul is super articulated with 12 ball-joints, and 2 swivel joints in the wrists. Thanks to ball-joints in both legs, the figure has a very secure stand. Hasbro even managed to add peg holes into the claw feet! The only weapon included with Maul was a double-bladed red lightsaber where both blades can be removed. The saber hilt is one piece and doesn't come apart. It's a pretty good fit and can easily be held by the figure with both hands. The blades stay nicely attached to the hilt, but they feel a bit short. Unfortunately, Hasbro didn't include a "Sith robe" with the figure.

The paint application on Darth Maul is very well done with dirty horns and his signature tattoos all over the upper body. The legs are painted in a dark gray/silver color, which adds a nice "mechanical" effect. The detail in the facial (nice angry look!) and abdominal area is fantastic and comes quite close to the comic book version. All in all, this Cyborg Darth Maul is a never-before-done figure, which is nicely detailed and super articulated. If you are into the expanded universe, you'll very likely enjoy this figure!
