MORE INFORMATION

This AT-ST Driver was released in the Attack On Hoth battlepack during The Shadow Of The Dark Side Collection in October 2010 as a Target exclusive. The AT-ST Driver was packed-in together with 2 Snowtroopers, an AT-ST vehicle and an E-Web cannon. AT-ST Drivers were seen in The Return Of The Jedi, but not in The Empire Strikes Back. However, during the attack on Hoth, AT-ST vehicles can be seen very briefly in the background.

This version of the AT-ST Driver is the first super articulated Star Wars figure of this character. The figure has 14 joints, with ball-joints in the neck, shoulders, elbows, the waist, knees and ankles. The forearms and both legs are swivel jointed. There are no balancing issues, but the figure does have the typical peg holes in the feet so it can be placed on a stand. The helmet fits very well onto the head, and the blaster stays quite well in both of the figure's hands. The harness is removable, but in order to get it off, the upper body needs to be disconnected on the waist joint (easy to do). The goggles fit very tightly over the head, and cover the AT-ST Driver's eyes very well. Unfortunately, the figure can't wear the goggles at the same time as the helmet, because the helmet isn't wide enough. If it was wider though, it would look strange. The goggles are also too tight to fit over the helmet.

The paint job on the AT-ST Driver is simple with only black and various gray colors on the helmet and outfit, but it matches the on-screen characters outstandingly well. The super articulated sculpt is brilliant, plus it fits very well inside the AT-ST cockpit. This version of the AT-ST Driver is the best representation of this character from Hasbro as of this review. Despite the small issue with the goggles, this figure, and the Attack On Hoth battlepack can easily be recommended!

PACKAGING TEXT

The Rebel base on Hoth is under attack! An All terrain Scout Transport (AT-ST) walker strides across the ground toward Echo Base. The vehicle's blaster cannons and concussion launcher give the walker plenty of firepower, while the height and mobility provide significant advantages during attacks. On the ground, snowtroopers slam the Rebel base with laser fire from an E-Web heavy repeating blaster.
