MORE INFORMATION

This animated-style Flamethrower Clone Trooper was released individually carded during The Clone Wars Collection in late September 2010. These Flamethrower Clones could be seen in the episode "Landing At Point Rain", from the second season of the Clone Wars TV show.

The figure is a re-worked version of the previously released Captain Rex in Cold Assault Gear from Spring 2010. Besides the paint application, Hasbro changed the skirt from plastic to soft goods, which means the blaster holsters on both sides are gone now. The Flamethrower Clone has 12 joints, only lacking articulated ankles. The neck, wrists, the waist and both legs have swivel joints, while the shoulders, elbows and knees are ball-jointed. The figure stands quite well on its own as long as there are no flame effects attached to the flamethrower. Hasbro included a backpack, a flamethrower, a blaster rifle, two flame attachments, two shoulder bells and a removable top piece for the helmet with the figure. The backpack plugs nicely into a hole in the back of the figure. Both shoulder bells and the top of the helmet can also be attached on the figure by placing them into small holes, which works quite well. The 2-piece flamethrower fits only somewhat OK into the figure's hands, but with enough patience it is possible to display the Clone Trooper with the rifle grip in one hand, and the top handle in the other. The blaster rifle is also just a somewhat OK fit for both of the figure's hands.

Out of the two flame attachments, only one plugged into the front of the flamethrower, the other one's peg was too wide and just didn't fit. And even though the figure lost balance once the flame was attached to the flamethrower due to its weight on the front, it kept the balance quite well when placed on a stand.

The paint application on the Flamethrower Clone Trooper is OK, but unfortunately there is no weathering or dirt on the outfit. The figure's almost super articulated sculpt works ok, and comes close to what these clone troopers looked like in Landing At Point Rain. This Flamethrower Clone Trooper is a cool figure with quite a few accessories, which should please fans of the Clone Wars Collection.
