MORE INFORMATION

Baron Soontir Fel was released in an Entertainment Earth exclusive comic 2-pack together with Ysanne Isard. The set was originally to be released during The Legacy Collection, but wasn't released until The Legacy Collection had already ended. However, the packaging was still in the red Legacy-style, and even said Legacy Collection on the packaging when online retailer Entertainment Earth sold this set in November/December 2010. The figure is based on Baron Soontir Fel, who had several appearances in the Star Wars comic book series "X-Wing: Rogue Squadron" and other expanded universe stories.

Baron Soontir Fel has 14 joints, including ball-joints in the neck, shoulders, elbows, knees and ankles. Both forearms, the waist and both legs were given swivel joints. Despite ball-joints in the knees and ankles, it's surprisingly tricky to get Soontir Fel to stand safely on his own. The imperial Tie Fighter pilot helmet fits quite well over the figure's head, and the included Imperial hat (made out of very soft plastic) fits OK. The basic imperial blaster however fits only very loosely into the figure's hands.

The paint application on Soontir Fel isn't done very well. The black and red stripe on both sides of the figure's arms is interrupted by the shoulder joints, which looks "broken". The figure's beard isn't painted accurately either compared with the version seen in the comic book series. The black on the gloves and the feet is glossy, while the black on the boots is matte, which looks off a bit. The figure's sculpt is super articulated, but the face appeared much more round in the comic books. It appears as if Hasbro tried to release a figure based on several different appearances by the character, instead of focusing on one specific look. The result of this is only average. All in all, this Baron Soontir Fel figure feels rushed and like a "let's-tweak-what-we-have-already-just-enough-so-we-can-put-another-name-on-it" job.
