This Clone Lieutenant was released individually carded in 2005 during the original cartoon-style Clone Wars toy line. The figure is based on the phase I trooper design from Episode II, but with a cartoon-style look, the way troopers appeared in the first season of the Tartakovsky mini-series. However, we couldn't find any reference material that "blue" Clone Troopers besides ARC Troopers were actually seen in the TV show.
This Clone Lieutenant is identical with the yellow, red and white clone troopers released in this series. The only difference is the paint application. The Clone Lieutenant has 4 points of articulation, which includes a ball-jointed neck, 2 swivel arms and a swivel waist. The only weapon included was a blaster rifle, which the Clone Trooper can hold OK in the left hand.
The paint application on the Episode II inspired Clone Lieutenant is very basic, with only black, white, gray and blue on the armor. The figure's sculpt comes close to the way Clone Troopers appeared in the Tartakovsky micro-series.
Through the creative vision of Lucasfilm Ltd. and the Cartoon Network, the Clone Wars are brought to life in an exciting new series of short animated chapters. A unique animation style captures the drama of this epic period in galactic history along with its outstanding heroes and adversaries. Noble Jedi warriors lead Clone Troopers into battle against the evil Separatist forces and their droid armies. Anakin, Obi-Wan, Yoda and their comrades struggle against the rising power of the dark side and confront personal challenges against a backdrop of war-torn planets.
