This Battle Droid was released in a 2-pack during the Clone Wars Collection as a Target exclusive in February/March 2011. The figure was packed-in together with ARF Trooper Waxer and is based on the Weapons Factory episode from the second season of The Clone Wars.
The figure is a repaint of the very first Battle Droid released in the Clone Wars Collection in 2008. This means the figure has a total of eight joints, including a ball-jointed neck, 2 ball-jointed shoulders, 2 swivel elbows, a swivel waist and two swivel legs. The knees and ankles are not articulated, and the droid can't be placed in a "sleeping" position. The droid stands quite shaky overall and will require the included stand for more balance. The included basic Battle Droid blaster is a decent fit for both hands, and the included backpack can be plugged into the figure's back very well.
The paint job on the droid is cleanly applied, but feels very simple with only red and yellow colors. Unfortunately, there is no dirt or any battle markings on the droid to make it more interesting, and the red feels too light compared with the Battle Droids seen in the Weapons Factory episode. Aesthetically, the Battle Droid looks nice, but with so many Clone Wars figures having 14 points of articulation, it feels as if there is quite a bit of room left for improvement.
Clone troopers fight battle droids to destroy a Separatist weapons factory. ARF Trooper Waxer scouts ahead to gather information about the enemy. He runs into a squad of battle droids, and stops these robotic warriors before they reveal his position.
