This Imperial Scanning Crew Technician was released in the fall of 2009 in The Legacy Collection's basic assortment. The Imperial Scanning Crew can be seen in A New Hope carrying a box with scanning equipment inside the Millennium Falcon.
The figure has a total of 14 joints, which gives you enough freedom to pose the figure in almost any position you'd like it to be in. Ball-jointed ankles and knees make sure that the Imperial's stance is adjustable, and thanks to stiff joints, the figure stands very securely on its own without the need for a stand. Hasbro included two accessories with the figure, a blaster, and a box. The blaster is a good fit for both hands, and it also fits OK into the holster. Even though the holster seems to have the right size to hold the weapon in it, it feels a bit bulky. There is not too much you can do with the box that was included, but it makes for a nice background accessory. The figure's Imperial hat is glued in place and can't be removed.
The paint application is overall very simple. The jump suit is kept in gray, and it has some black and silver accents. The mold itself is done nicely, and all the small details on the uniform appear to be there, such as the communicator on the left forearm, the silver cylinders in the left upper-arm pocket, or the Imperial symbols on both shoulders. All in all, this Imperial Scanning Crew Technician is a nice upgrade from previous versions and well worth to add to your collection.
An Imperial scanning crew checks the Millennium Falcon to make sure no one is on board. The two-man crew brings the scanner onto the ship and quickly discovers the vessel is not as empty as it first appeared to be.
