Hasbro had an impressive line-up of already released and up-coming Black Series 6" figures on display at New York Toy Fair 2019. There were new reveals and some other details which we found out about on the show floor.
Hasbro's brand new Black Series Deluxe line of action figures will be numbered. General Grievous will be the very first with a designation of D1. You can still pre-order General Grievous on Entertainment Earth, which will ship out in April 2019.
The up-coming Black Series 6" Battle Droid from Episode 1 looked great up close and it's possible to fold it up like it was seen in the movie. It's quite amazing how many intricate details were worked into this figure to make this feature possible. The blaster can be attached to the side of the backpack and the the Battle Droid's antenna can be removed. The figure can be pre-ordered on EE.
The Black Series 6" Obi-Wan Kenobi action figure was a new reveal, it will be sold exclusively at Star Wars Celebration Chicago 2019 in April on a throwback Episode 1 style card. If you have purchased the Star Wars Celebration Orlando 2017 exclusive Luke Skywalker (X-Wing Pilot) previously, you know that the card has a glossy foil finish, and this is also the case for the Obi-Wan Kenobi figure. There was no price point mentioned and it was unclear how you'll be able to purchase it at the show, but we'll get you up-dated once Hasbro releases this information. Of course there won't be a commtech chip included with Obi-Wan but the figure will come with an extra set of hands, and Hasbro will give the figure the impressive photo real face printing treatment. Obi-Wan Kenobi will also be released single boxed in the basic Black Series 6" line-up and his spot will be #85.
A 6" Darth Maul will also be released on an Episode 1 throw-back card exclusively at Star Wars Celebration Chicago. The figure itself is a re-release of the Black Series Darth Maul figure from the very first Black Series wave in 2013. The figure will also be re-worked into the archive line later in the year.
Here is the full line-up of Black Series Archive figures for 2019, some of them are already available at retail (Boba Fett, Luke Skywalker, Bossk, IG-88).
We also have an udpate about the Black Series 6" numbering. You can find the Black Series 6" figures here in our database which includes the current basic assortment all the way up to Rio Durant with #77. From #77 up the line-up looks like this:
On display were also a few exclusive Black Series figures which will be available soon (the Imperial Jumptrooper is available exclusively at Gamestop) and Luke Skywalker (Death Star Escape) will be exclusive to Target stores.
