Current Collector's Concerns

11/29/2023 Galactic Figures Hasbro

GalacticFigures.com will be part of a round-table Q&A with the Hasbro Star Wars brand team at the end of next week and in preparation for it we've reached out to our community on our social channels (Insta, Facebook, FB Group) to find out what concerns and questions you might have. After going through all the answers here are the current concerns in our community in no particular order:

  • Incomplete Teams in The Vintage Collection (TVC):
    • Collectors express frustration over incomplete teams, such as the Bad Batch, Rogue One crew members, Inquisitors from Kenobi, and missing characters like Season 1 Ezra for upcoming Rebels figures. Our community seeks clarification on whether these teams will be completed.
  • Requests for Specific Characters:
    • Collectors are excited about the announcement of Joruus C’Baoth for the Black Series 6" line and hope for similar releases in the 3.75" scale. The community also expressed interest in more characters from the Heir to the Empire set in 3 3/4" and there were multiple requests for a Pong Krell figure.
  • Product Support for HasLab The Razor Crest:
    • Collectors are pleased with the pipelined Season 1 Kanan and Zeb figures, anticipating support for HasLab The Ghost. However, there's a request for additional characters that interact with The Razor Crest, especially those already made in 6".
  • Additional Mainline Waves and Figures For TVC:
    • Collectors request an additional mainline wave per year for the 3 3/4" line or more figures per wave to address the gaps in character releases. There were several straightforward request for increased production of The Vintage Collection figures.
  • Release Plans for Specific Figures:
    • Collectors are eager to know if TVC Captain Enoch will be released single carded and when TVC Jango Fett will be released.
  • Expansion of Clone Wars Twin Packs Concept:
    • Collectors praise the new Clone Wars twin packs for the Black Series 6" line and inquire if this concept could be extended to other eras and factions.
  • Requests for True Animated Likeness:
    • Some collectors request true animated likenesses for characters from animated shows in the Black Series and TVC, emphasizing the importance of authenticity to the source material.
  • Spacing Out Releases And More Transparency:
    • Collectors express concerns about the spacing of releases, mentioning the impact on budget allocation.
  • Increase in TVC Figures from the Prequels:
    • Collectors highlight the need for more Vintage Collection figures from the prequel era, expressing a sense of neglect.
  • Distribution Issues:
    • There are concerns about distribution issues, with the community saying that shelves at Target and Walmart specifically are mostly empty throughout the entire year.
  • Desire for More Ships:
    • Collectors express a desire for more ship releases, emphasizing the importance of having a variety of vehicles in addition to figures.
  • Budget and HasLab for Obscure Figures:
    • Questions are raised about the budget for Star Wars figures, and collectors suggest using HasLab for obscure figure packs that may not perform well at retail.
  • Concerns about Articulation Quality:
    • Collectors question the shift in articulation quality, particularly the absence of swivel-hinge knees and thigh cuts, and inquire if this is meant to be the new norm. There's a concern about the absence of thigh swivels in Black Series figures for dynamic characters like Jedi/Sith and Mandalorians. Collectors hope for the return of this articulation.
  • Definition of "Deluxe" Action Figures:
    • The community raised questions about the criteria for defining a TVC figure as "deluxe," seeking clarity on the decision-making process.

There you have it, that's the summary of all the concerns and questions raised yesterday on our social media channels. Thank you everyone for participating!
