Hasbro's Livestream Reveals

Hasbro held a new Star Wars fanstream on the Hasbro Pulse YouTube channel this morning, revealing upcoming figures for both Star Wars: The Vintage Collection and Star Wars: The Black Series. The focus was heavily on Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu, with a few additional surprises mixed in for collectors.

Star Wars: The Vintage Collection

For Star Wars: The Vintage Collection, Hasbro gave collectors another look at Devin Izara, who had previously been revealed, but this time the team was able to show the figure in prototype form.

Hasbro also revealed Hera Syndulla from season one of Star Wars Rebels, giving collectors another animated-series character in the 3.75-inch scale. In addition, the Sandtrooper from last year’s Special Action Figure 3-pack will be repackaged on a single card.

Hasbro finally revealed more figures from The Mandalorian And Grogu movie with Embo, the Mercenary Guard Droid, and Zeb Orrelios in his New Republic pilot outfit. They all look fantastic! There were no pipeline reveals and no vehicles shown for The Vintage Collection during the livestream.

Star Wars: The Black Series

For Star Wars: The Black Series, Hasbro revealed IG-11, a Snowtrooper, Grogu, the Mercenary Guard Droid, Embo, and Zeb Orrelios in his New Republic pilot outfit.

All of the Black Series figures will be released in standard packaging, with Grogu arriving in a smaller box. The five larger figures, IG-11, the Snowtrooper, the Mercenary Guard Droid, Embo, and Zeb Orrelios (not shown), will also be released in limited First Edition white boxes in addition to the regular blue packaging.

One interesting detail is IG-11. While the figure is part of this new reveal wave, the packaging uses a brown stripe and says Star Wars: The Mandalorian instead of Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu. That appears to be because IG-11 was based on a scene that did not make it into the final movie, which likely explains the packaging adjustment.

Final Thoughts

Overall, there are definitely figures here that have been on collectors’ want lists, especially with more characters from Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu joining both scales. At the same time, it is unfortunate that characters such as Rotta the Hutt, or even the Twins who served as major villains in the movie, have not been announced yet.

There were also no vehicles shown for The Vintage Collection, even though Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu included several vehicles and speeders, including a very cool Anzellan starship. For 3.75-inch collectors, that absence was definitely noticeable.

We have not received a press release from Hasbro yet, so we cannot comment on final pricing. At this time, we expect pricing to remain unchanged, which would put The Vintage Collection figures at $19.99 plus tax, regular Black Series figures at $27.99, and Grogu at $9.99. If that changes, we will post an update on our main page and revise this article once the official press release arrives.
