MORE INFORMATION

The Magnaguard droid was released in wave 4 of the Clone Wars animated line at the end of January 2009. This type of droid was seen several times in the Star Wars universe, including Episode III and the Clone Wars animated TV Show. However, this specific version of the Magnaguard droid was molded after the appearance in the animated TV show. The figure is very well articulated from the waist up, but there is no ankle or knee articulation, which is unfortunate because it will limit the poses you can put this combat droid in. The figure stands very safely by itself, and if you have troubles having him stand straight, you could use the electrostaff for additional support. Hasbro did make peg holes in the droids' feet, so you could place him on a stand if necessary. The paint application is quite nice and gives the droid an overall rusty and dirty appearance. Hasbro included a super-sized rocket launcher with the figure which can shoot out a projectile. I've tried several times to place it into the droids' hands, but he wouldn't hold on to it. Unfortunately Hasbro did not include a cape of some sort, which will hopefully be included next time when this character is released. Overall, it's an average figure.

PACKAGING TEXT

The bodyguard droids for General Grievous are trained by the cyborg general himself. He has had their memories and combat libraries wiped clean so that the droids can learn battle techniques rather than rely on stored programs. This has resulted in more sophisticated, and lethal droids.
