MORE INFORMATION

This General Grievous figure was released in July 2008 as part of the first Clone Wars series which was based on the TV show. The figure came with 2 blue lightsabers, 2 green lightsabers, a blaster, and one extra set of arms. The lightsaber hilts look all different from each other and their blades are non-removable. The blaster included is the basic Battle Droid blaster.

Unfortunately, all weapons (the sabers and the blaster) sit very loosely in Grievous' hands, and might just fall out once you move the figure. Because there are no joints in his wrists, you have little to no control in what position the sabers are being held. The figure came with the traditional two arms, but it also came with an extra set of arms where all of Grievous' arms are extended, which then makes a total of four arms. The figure looks pretty cool with all four arms extended, but there is a chance that you end up having balancing issues and Grievous might fall over. There are no peg holes in his feet, so a stand can't be used.

The paint application is nicely done and gives Grievous a cool used and dirty look. His head looks spot on (maybe a bit small?) when compared to the TV show counterpart. The biggest problem this Grievous figure has is the very, very soft plastic it's made out of. The plastic is so soft, that it bends easily on its own. When that happens, you won't be able to get the figure to stand. All in all, it's a decent first try on Hasbro's part to release a General Grievous figure based on the Clone Wars TV show, the many weapons included (4 lightsabers, 1 blaster!), and the extra set of arms show that Hasbro tried to get this one right. Unfortunately, due to the lack of any joints in the arms, lack of peg holes in the feet and the very soft plastic used, the figure falls short, especially when compared to the TLC Grievous figure.
