MORE INFORMATION

This Jedi Luke Skywalker figure was a battlepack exclusive for Target stores in 2008. Luke is based on a mold which Hasbro used back in 2004, which explains the lack of ball-joints. The figure came with Luke's signature ROTJ lightsaber, which fits nicely into his left hand. The right hand has an open palm, and so it can't be used to hold any weapons. The figure itself is only average, but what puts it below average is the very awkward paint application. Luke has a super pale face and a face expression which looks like as if he just crapped himself in the pants right before he's about to be thrown into the Sarlacc pit. On the right side of his face are some paint smudges, which with a lot of imagination could be Tatooine sand, but it looks more like a factory error. Another negative are his knee joints. They look strange and actually leave a little gap on both sides of his knees. All things considered, this Luke Skywalker figure based on his Jedi outfit is one of the weaker, if not THE weakest release of this character so far. It also shows how much of a difference a good paint application can make.

PACKAGING TEXT

"Victims of the almighty Sarlacc, his Excellency hopes that you will die honorably..." But Luke isn't about to let his friends die at the Pit of Carkoon. As the young Jedi stands on the skiff above the hungry Sarlacc, he springs his daring escape plan. Boba Fett uses the firing grappling hook in his gauntlet to briefly recapture Luke, but with a lightsaber's slash, Skywalker is once again free. One by one, Jabba's guards fall into the pit to be devoured by the Sarlacc. Lando barely escapes from becoming the creature's next meal, and is saved just in time by Han Solo. But Boba Fett doesn't fare as well; Han accidentally activates Fett's backpack and sends the bounty hunter tumbling into the Sarlacc's gaping mouth!

Luke gives Jabba the Hutt one final wanring before he launches an escape using his powerful Jedi abilities.
