  • This Emperor Palpatine action figure was released single carded in September 2021
  • The figure came with an extra set of hands with Force lightning attached, a removable plastic hood, a walking cane and a removable soft-goods robe
  • The plastic hood fits well over the head and the combination of plastic hood and soft-goods robe works well together
  • Unfortunately Palpatine's soft-goods robe feels overly bulky and even with patience it's very difficult to make it look good
  • The walking-cane fits only loosely into the hands
  • The extra set of hands is easy to exchange, simply unplug Palpatine's hands and plug the new ones in
  • The hands with the Force Lightning attached were nicely painted with red fingers going into a translucent blue color (here is a close-up image, keep in mind that in this case the pixely print isn't noticable to the naked eye)
  • The aggressive face expression with the photo real print on it looks good to the naked eye, but it limits for what type of display this figure can be used (e.g. it's not a good option for an Arrival At The Death Star scene)
  • Palpatine stands well on display without loosing the balance
  • The soft-goods robe feels unmanageably bulky and it's difficult to make it look right when either shooting Force Lightning or having him walk straight leaning onto his cane
  • Even though this Emperor Palpatine figure can easily be recommended for the Kenner-style packaging alone, for such an anticipated figure by the fan community it would have been nice to see an updated body with ball-jointed hips, swivel thighs, rocker wrists and a ball-jointed upper body to bring it up to current articulation standards

There was no biography or additional text on the packaging.
