MORE INFORMATION

  • This Darth Vader Concept figure was released together with an Obi-Wan Kenobi Concept figure exclusively through ShopDisney.com in October 2022
  • For this figure Hasbro used the body of the Darth Vader figure from 2020, repainted it, cut a triangle pattern into the bottom of the soft-goods robe (?) and added a new head sculpt
  • Needless to say, simply re-using an existing figure to save cost on the development isn't quite enough for a release like this which is supposed to pay homage to one of the most important behind-the-scenes people who was involved with Star Wars from the very beginning
  • There are so many inaccuracies that they will not all be listed here, but in short, there is no holster on Vader's right hip, there was no blaster included, the chest box, the shoulder armor, the shin guards, the gloves, the belt, it's all wrong
  • The good parts about this figure are the helmet which looks great, the dark blue and black color tones on the outfit and the lightsaber with removable blade
  • The figure is able to hold the lightsaber well in both hands
  • It's frustrating that the Hasbro team released a 3 3/4" concept Darth Vader figure about 15 years ago (yes, it looks outdated with modern figures but it's easy to see how much care went into making it) which was way more accurate than this Black Series repaint with a new head, the 2007 figure also included two different helmet sculpts
  • This Darth Vader Concept figure is unfortunately nothing more than a repaint of a previous figure with a new helmet and a different lightsaber (and a triangle pattern on the bottom of the robe)
