This Mace Windu and Emperor Palpatine 2-pack was officially revealed during Hasbro’s annual San Diego Comic-Con media breakfast on July 24, 2025
The set was first released at New York Comic-Con 2025 and made available to Hasbro Pulse Premium members on the opening day of the convention
Palpatine and Mace are based on their duel in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, and the packaging beautifully captures this moment—when opened, it reveals a window display featuring the Coruscant skyline in the background
You can find the Palpatine figure from this set archived on GF here: Black Series Palpatine
The highlight here for this Mace Windu figure is the included alternate portrait which shows Mace with an aggressive expression
It's easy to ehange the heads, simply pull one off the neck peg and plug the other one on
The soft-goods robes can be taken of the figure
The lightsaber fits well into Mace Windu's hands
The purple lightsaber blade can be removed from the hilt
Unfortunately there is no hole in the belt where the saber could be plugged in for storage
If you own any of the previously released Mace Windu figures then you know already what you are getting here, besides the alternate aggressive portrait, there is nothing new included here
The pins in the knees feel outdated for 2025 and it would have been nice to see if Hasbro had updated the legs for this release
Mace Windu stands securely without any balancing issues
Overall, this figure just like the included Palpatine, leave room for improvement, but the stunning packaging helps compensate for some of its shortcomings
